The model Work Health and Safety Act has been released and will be adopted by each state on January 1, 2012. There are significant changes to current legislation including the duties of officers, the definition of due diligence and reasonably practicable, and the penalties that apply for breaches of the Act. This presentation will provide an insight into the changing landscape of OHS legislation and what companies must do to prepare themselves including discussion on the key aspects of an effective safety program along with implications to national harmonisation out of the recent election.
