Post-Nominals

 


Recognition through the RMIA membership post-nominal

Members can apply to use the RMIA post-nominal to demonstrate their professional qualifications, experience and commitment to the highest standards of risk management. Through the RMIA post-nominal a member can show peers and colleagues their dedication and commitment to their career.

There are three levels of membership available to RMIA members through application:

  • MRMIA – Member of RMIA
  • AFRMIA – Associate Fellow of RMIA
  • FRMIA – Fellow of RMIA

Member of RMIA
RMIA Members may apply to the Board to become a Member of the RMIA – giving them access to the highly regarded “MRMIA” post-nominal and the use of the title: “Member of the Risk Management Institution of Australasia.”

To be eligible to become a Member of the RMIA members must fulfil the following criteria:

  • be a current member of the RMIA
  • hold an approved professional or tertiary qualification; and
  • have five years’ recognised work experience in any area of risk management or two years lecturing or tutoring in risk management.

Application fee: $110 (inc GST)

Associate Fellow of the RMIA
RMIA Members may apply to the Board to become an Associate Fellow of the RMIA – giving them access to the highly regarded “AFRMIA” post-nominal and the use of the title: “Associate Fellow of the Risk Management Institution of Australasia.”

To be eligible to become an Associate Fellow members must fulfil the following criteria:

  • be a current member of the RMIA
  • hold a relevant tertiary qualification, with three years’ work experience in managing any area of risk management or four years lecturing/tutoring in risk management, have presented two papers or published articles within the preceding five years, and maintained their CPD requirements for the preceding five years
    OR
    hold a professional qualification in risk management, with five years’ work experience in managing any area of risk management, have presented one paper or published an article within the preceding three years and maintained their CPD requirements for the preceding three years.

Application fee: $110 (inc GST)

Fellow of the RMIA
Fellowship of the RMIA is the most prestigious level of membership afforded to a risk professional. It represents risk managers who have reached the pinnacle of professionalism and skill in the risk profession. RMIA Members may apply to the Board to become an Fellow of the RMIA – giving them access to the highly regarded “FRMIA” post nominal and the use of the title: “Fellow of the Risk Management Institution of Australasia.”

To be eligible to become a Fellow members must fulfil the following criteria:

  • be a current member of the RMIA
  • hold a relevant tertiary qualification, with five years’ work experience in managing any area of risk management for five years lecturing in risk management, have presented five papers or published articles within the preceding three years, maintained their CPD requirements for the preceding five years, and provided mentoring to a least one risk management graduate
    OR
    hold a professional qualification in risk management, with 10 years’ work experience in managing any area of risk, have presented two papers or published articles within the preceding five years, maintained their CPD requirements for the preceding five years, and provided mentoring to at least two risk management graduates.

Application fee: $110 (inc GST)
