About the Topic
Join us Monday, 8 March 2021, on International Women’s Day, for a panel discussion with executive women in leadership.
The event showcases top female panelists, and role models to younger women and emerging leaders, whilst providing insights into their career journey and leadership pathways. The panel will address how they have broken stereotypes to progress in a male dominated industry and how they navigated opportunities and balanced priorities throughout their career. This event will provide a powerful opportunity for our attendees to ask questions, gain insight, inspiration and empowerment to navigate their career development during their journey to become our future generation of female leaders.

Meet our leading women...
Michele Huey - Group Executive, Transurban NSW
Michele joined Transurban in 2015 as Group Executive, Strategy, and was appointed to the role of Group Executive, NSW Business Operations in 2017. Michele is responsible for the NSW market (excluding WestConnex). Before joining Transurban, Michele was the Group Head of Procurement and Group Head of Transformation at Lendlease Corporation, and a Principal at Booz & Company (now part of PricewaterhouseCoopers) where she worked with international and national organisations across the oil and gas, resources, industrial and financial services sectors on strategy development, operational improvement programs, and organisation transformations. Michele is a member of the Transport Research Board (USA), Congestion Pricing Committee.
Jennifer Richards - Managing Director, Specialties, Commercial Risk & Health Solutions, Aon Australia
Jennifer is the Managing Director of Aon’s Specialties business. In this role she leads a growing team across Australia encompassing Aon’s Financial Services, M&A Solutions, Credit Solutions, Environmental Services, Health Solutions, Workplace Risk and Risk Consulting groups. Jennifer is an expert in transactional liability and tax insurance, with extensive experience on the broking, underwriting and legal sides of the M&A business.
Prior to Aon, Jennifer held a variety of senior management roles at AIG where she was responsible for their M&A insurance, private equity and real estate groups Before joining the insurance industry, Jennifer practiced corporate and securities law at Sidley Austin LLP in New York City.
Jennifer is a member of Aon Australia’s executive leadership team and Diversity& Inclusion Council.
Kate Shaw - Partner, Risk Strategy & Technology, KPMG
Kate Shaw is a Partner in KPMG’s Risk Strategy & Technology practice and has delivered enterprise risk management services to the public and private sectors for over 20 years. Kate is the leader of KPMG’s enterprise risk management practice for the government and not for profit sectors and the Executive Sponsor of KPMG’s Disability Network. She has a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) and an MBA, and in her spare time is a member of the Council for Sydney Symphony Orchestra and the Chair of the SSO Vanguard Collective.
Joanne Taylor - Executive General Manager, Retail Brand & Culture, Ampol Australia
Joanne is an executive leader with over 20 years’ experience currently leading the Retail, Brand, Internal Communications and People functions at Ampol ensuring customers, employees, communities and stakeholders are at the heart of the Ampol journey. Prior to joining Ampol Joanne was EGM HR at McDonald's Australia, including holding several other senior level roles across QSR, hospitality and the manufacturing sectors.
Francesca Dickson - Head of Corporate Governance & Risk, BPAY Group
Our panel facilitator is another Woman In Leadership, Francesca Dickson.
Francesca is the Head of Corporate Governance and Risk at BPAY Group, which runs Australia’s leading BPAY bill payment service, Osko PayID and an AI startup. In her role, Francesca leads BPAY’s group governance, risk and compliance function and is particularly interested in risk culture and innovation. She is also a qualified Chartered Secretary.
Francesca is also a Committee Member of the RMIA NSW Chapter and a previous Women in Leadership panellist.
