The course is delivered by the Institute of Presilience® (RTO#4785). Australian Nationally Recognised Skills, Statement of Attainment (SoA) for the following unit will be issued upon successful completion, this is a mappable (SoA) with transferable credit towards the Graduate Certificate in Organisational Resilience, Risk and High Reliability (11056NAT):

  • NAT11056001 – Integrate the psychology of risk to decision making

About Trainers

 
 Dr Gav Schneider, Chief Executive Officer, Risk 2 Solution Group, Acknowledged Risk Leader 

Dr Gav is the CEO of Risk 2 Solution Group and is an acknowledged subject matter expert on human based risk management and the psychology of risk. He is a highly experienced, security, safety, emergency and risk specialist with decades of experience. 

Dr Gav has conducted business in over 17 countries and provided a wide range of services for a very diverse client base, ranging from heads of state to school teachers. He is a leading academic in his field and heads up the Post Graduate Psychology of Risk program at the Australian Catholic University (ACU). 

He is also the author of the highly acclaimed ‘Can I See your Hands: A Guide to Situational Awareness, Personal Risk Management, Resilience and Security’ available for purchase, here. Dr Gav has been recognised for his work and was the RMIA Risk Consultant of the Year for 2019 and one of the top twenty global thought leaders in fire and security in the IFSEC Global Security & Fire Influencer Awards.

 Dr Paul JohnsonBehavioural Scientist and Senior Risk Expert, Risk 2 Solution Group

Paul has 25 years of operational and management consulting experience in both the public and private sectors, during which time he has worked with and provided management advisory and capacity development services to a wide range of industry groups throughout Australia and internationally – with this encompassing a number of major government, infrastructure, transport, and oil & gas projects.

Holding accreditations as a Fellow of the Australian Risk Policy Institute (FARPI), Chartered Generalist OHS Professional (ChOHSP) and Certified Master Anti-Terrorism Specialist (CMAS), his specific areas of expertise relate to health/safety/wellbeing and security risk management and capacity development on a personal, organisational and societal level.

Adopting an evidence based behavioural science approach, Paul actively integrates the principles of organisational psychology and risk management to facilitate sustainable cultural change and capacity development that is supported by, and actively aligned with, wider management and operational frameworks - thereby facilitating health/safety/wellbeing and security risk management as being truly “business as usual”.

Employing this approach, Paul has provided need assessment, management system auditing, research/analysis, and organisational change and capacity development services to a number of organisations, developing bespoke management and training frameworks/programs and solutions, and integrating the same with existing systems – actively incorporating operational needs and statutory requirements with strategic goals and business objectives.

Paul also has extensive experience in project risk governance, workshop facilitation, and the development and provision of specialised capacity development/training packages.

Combining practical experience with theoretical knowledge, Paul maintains an active relationship with academic and research institutions.

 
 Christopher Douglas, General Manager of Training and Education, Risk 2 Solution Group

Chris has worked in the training industry for over 10 years, both as a trainer and a Company Director of one of the largest regional training providers in the security industry, he has developed and implemented training standards that have set both “Brand” and Industry standard. Based on his extensive experience in security, law enforcement, entrepreneurial skills, and educational acumen, he is accustomed to meeting and achieving goals. He is client focused, developing business and educational strategies to help and develop outcomes. Chris has experience in the corporate, state, and federal sectors, with experience in tailoring results to align with agency and legislative requirements.

 
 Joe Saunders, National Practice Lead - R2S Violence Prevention Risk 2 Solution Group

Joe is a recognised thought leader in the field of occupational violence and is regularly called upon to present at local and international events. He is the co-author of the ASRC’s Occupational Violence, Aggression and Duty of Care research paper, and has contributed articles for numerous journals and publications, including LexisNexis Risk Management Today, Security Insider, Aviation Security International, and The Circuit Magazine. He combines 15 years of experience in frontline conflict management with post-graduate research into psychology, workplace safety and security risk management.

Joe is a gifted and dynamic presenter, educator and training designer with a knack for communicating a sometimes-difficult subject to professionals and laypersons alike. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Strategic Risk Management (ISRM), an Associate of the Australian Risk Policy Institute (AARPI) and a Member of the International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association (ILEETA).
