Hear about the Risk Award winners' career journeys in the Risk Industry to achieve winning their awards. This key event allows attendees to engage and interact with our award winners at the industry's peak whilst supporting growth for individuals.
The Format
Networking opportunities, sit down multiple course lunch and drinks. Keynote speaker presentation for both Award Winners of approximately 30 minutes, followed by 15 minutes of Q&A.
About Our Risk Leaders
Risk Leader of the Year
Dr Alex Pui, Executive Manager - Climate Scenario Analytics, Commonwealth Bank
Alex is Executive Manager, Climate Scenario Analytics at Commonwealth Bank, based out of Tokyo, where he leads the building of internal capability to assess transition and physical climate risk impacts on its portfolio and the broader Australian economy. Previously, Alex pioneered climate and other innovative risk solutions at Swiss Re. He has also been involved in underwriting, catastrophe risk modelling and research, and actuarial-related work in the reinsurance treaty space throughout his career in insurance.
Risk Manager of the Year
Liam Demamiel, National Manager (Acting), Australian Financal Security Authority (AFSA)
Liam is a Certified Practising Risk Manager with a decade of experience managing risk in complex Commonwealth Government settings. Liam is the RMIA's Risk Manager of the Year 2021 and is currently Acting National Manager, Legal and Governance at the Australian Financial Security Authority. AFSA was awarded the Gold Award (Enterprise Wide category) at the 2021 Commonwealth Awards for Excellence in Risk Management.
