About the role

HIF are looking for a great communicator with experience leading, coaching, and motivating teams who wants a varied hands-on role and is passionate about promoting the visibility and awareness of, as well as the responsibility and accountability for risk management.

The Risk Lead supports the Head of Risk, Compliance and Conduct (RCC) and the wider RCC team, in attaining HIF’s strategic and other organisational objectives through the provision of leadership, advice and support in effective execution of risk and opportunity management, including fraud risk management. 

The Risk Lead is responsible for leading and managing the risk team to achieve the department’s objectives and further responsible for, through the work undertaken by the risk team, the implementation, maintenance and enhancement of HIF’s risk management framework (RMF), as well as appropriate reporting on the organisation-wide risk and internal control environment.

What HIF are looking for

  • Certified Practicing Risk Manager
  • Tertiary qualification in a business relevant discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in the implementation and continuous improvement of risk management frameworks
  • Provide leadership, motivate and develop teams
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Australian and New Zealand Risk Management Standard (AS/NZS 31000:2018)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of APRA Prudential Standard CPS 220 Risk Management
  • Ability to build relationships and influence both internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Attention to detail with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous experience in similar roles within financial services or professional services industries
