Senior Controls Advisor, Housing Performance and Governance Branch

An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Controls Advisor on a Full-time basis in the Enterprise Portfolio Governance Unit 

Enterprise Portfolio Governance (EPG) proactively supports the organisation to effectively deliver on its portfolio of programs and services through the adoption of consistent approaches to program management, public construction procurement, performance management and management of risks. EPG has a focus on compliance and cross-portfolio analysis to maximise community benefit, minimise risk, and support capability building across the Homes Victoria Project Management community.

A new Senior Controls Advisor role has been created within Enterprise Portfolio Governance (EPG) Unit of Homes Victoria to build, assess, and evaluate effectiveness, efficiency and consistency of the internal processes and risk and compliance controls as the enterprise risk management framework is implemented and adopted across Homes Victoria.  The Senior Controls Advisor will support the Manager, Risk to lead and provide risk controls analysis, advice, and support as part of a cross organisational lift in governance, control testing and management of risk. The ability to identify inadequacies and recommend strategies and policies to improve how risk and compliance controls are developed, managed, embedded, and reviewed is crucial as the organisation's governance and risk maturity develops.

As our ideal candidate, you will be required to demonstrate:

  1. A strong background in internal auditing and process improvement will be beneficial.
  2. Working knowledge in the application of compliance and risk management policies and procedures including a sound understanding of risk management trends and issues across infrastructure-related activities.
  3. Working knowledge of government related analytical and control testing frameworks.

Mandatory qualifications or requirements for this opportunity include:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification and/or profession certifications would be desirable.
