Job Vacancy: Business Advisor – Risk & Quality Assurance

  • Salary range $87,394 to $94,407 per annum plus 9.5% superannuation

An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated professional to join the City of Ballarat in a risk and quality management setting.  As a new role in the organisation, you will have the opportunity to shape and develop the risk and quality culture in a practical hands-on role.

To be successful in this role, you will possess high levels of enthusiasm and initiative with a passion for making a difference.  You will have strong stakeholder relationships, are a team player and can deliver excellent outcomes for an organisation.

You will have an improvement focus with skills and experience in interpreting legislation, development of policies and procedures, incident investigation and quality management systems.  Your excellent interpersonal and communication skills mean you will be able to advise to all levels of the organisation as well as produce quality correspondence, reports and statistics.

Experience in the risk management and quality assurance industries will be highly regarded, however if you have the right skills and experience, a great attitude, you could be someone who Council will be happy to train and develop into the role.  Challenging projects, working as part of a team of professionals and providing real business solutions are all part of the role.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated relevant experience preferably in a Risk, Quality Assurance or Insurance position.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high level Risk, Quality Management and/or Insurance advice across all levels within an organisation.
  • Well-developed written communications skills with the ability to produce reports, policy development and associated documentation.
  • Interpersonal and negotiating skills with the ability to communicate and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Well-developed analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of health and safety issues relevant to work activities and work area.
