Risk Systems Advisor

Location: Northern Melbourne/North Central Victoria 

An opportunity exists to join the Risk team to assist in developing better risk management systems for the management of incidents, risks and audits.  Mitchell Shire Council is one of Victoria's fastest growing municipalities on Melbourne's northern growth corridor. This role is responsible for delivering risk advice to the organisation, developing better systems to manage and record risks and works with senior leaders to capture risk controls to improve Council's risk profile.  An understanding of the way Council works and the risk in delivering the 100+ services is essential.  A background in complaint resolution or claims management would be an advantage and you will need to be a great communicator and have an excellent customer service approach.

To be successful in this role you will have several years' relevant risk management or quality management experience and may hold formal qualifications in Risk Management.  You will be able to provide timely and accurate advice to internal and external customers and have extensive experience in a insurance or claims management environment.  The ability to use auditing to implement high level initiatives and value add solutions in a continuous improvement environment coupled with demonstrated computer literacy and sound experience in word processing, spread sheets and risk management software are essential.  You will have the ability to operate in a virtual environment (including at home) with the flexibility to be present within the Shire as required.
