This is to let you know about some important changes to the leadership at the Western Australian chapter of RMIA taking effect immediately. This comes with our sincere thanks to outgoing WA President Tracy Destree for her leadership of the WA chapter over the past 12 months. Under Tracy’s guidance, the WA committee delivered several highly reviewed chapter events including the Risk Odyssey and the WA component of the national Keynote Tour, and oversaw a growth in the WA membership. I wish Tracy all the very best with her growing business and other future endeavours.
The Chapter President role is critical for the RMIA. Whilst providing leadership locally across the risk community, the role also acts as a conduit to the RMIA Board to assist with the development and ongoing management of the organisation’s strategy and to provide an understanding of the needs of the local chapter. As part of the Board’s succession planning process, it was important to identify an appropriate candidate quickly to maintain the momentum that has been built in Western Australia.
I am pleased to announce that Nenad Susic will be the new Western Australian Chapter President. Nenad is currently a member of the Western Australian Chapter Committee and is a CPRM. Nenad is a risk management professional at Rio Tinto’s Iron Ore business where he is currently the risk lead for a portfolio of strategically oriented business functions. Prior to joining Rio, Nenad spend nearly five years in a number of business planning related roles at the Department of the Attorney General. I believe that Nenad’s customer focused and collaborative approach is an excellent combination to support and empower the Western Australian Chapter Committee to deliver value to the risk community of Western Australia.
Please continue to support RMIA (particularly Western Australia) and Nenad in our endeavours to add value and recognition for our members.
