Position: Risk Manager
Purpose of This Position
The Risk Manager reports to the Head of Risk and Compliance and is responsible for providing risk advice that assists senior stakeholders with decision making as well as managing and continuously improving TransGrid’s enterprise wide risk strategy.

Individually and with Managers and the relevant EM, ensure understanding and engagement with vision, purpose, and strategic and stakeholder considerations at Manager and Team levels
Inspire confidence and urgency within the Department and across the Business Unit for the delivery of timely, high-quality service to internal and external customers
Foster a culture of continuous improvement
Continuously drive agility and flexibility in responding to market and industry changes
Drive a focussed commercial perspective, including an outward focus, awareness of delivery cycle times, and professional completion of work products
Develop customer and stakeholder engagement plans and deliver excellence in this area
Demonstrate advanced levels of competence in the TransGrid leadership capabilities required of the position

Promote and support organisational objectives around risk engagement and culture change

Lead TransGrid’s enterprise risk management framework, policies, and procedures including activities to monitor and manage TransGrid’s risk culture
Input into strategic executive decision making from a risk perspective
Assist Management with the identification of Key Risk Indicators through the use of data and analytics
Ongoing risk monitoring, reporting, and escalation as required Position Description Risk Manager
Assist in communicating and translating key risks to the business.
Assist management to identify risks and develop risk mitigation and monitoring strategies as part of the risk management framework and the risk appetite statement.
Maintaining and improving the Business Unit and Strategic Risk Registers.
Continuously improve of the risk management framework, processes and policies
Maintain input and data quality of risk management systems.
Assist with directing assurance activities relating to TransGrid’s risk profile and risk management
Stakeholder and Customer Relationships
Establish and maintain effective relationships with other TransGrid groups, external service providers and stakeholders
Represent TransGrid on key industry bodies and with key agencies and companies
Additional Duties & Information
The position is required to carry out any additional duties or projects allocated to the department
Engage with the business to embed sustained performance improvement and business process change
Identify strategic problems and management concerns in the business beyond the focus of specific assignments; introduce tailored pro-active and data driven solutions; anticipate needs and volunteer advice
Identify, evaluate and resolve issues affecting professional risk; plan and manage the assignment to minimise risk; review assignments to ensure quality meets or exceeds professional standards; maintain quality assurance over deliverables
