The Opportunity
You will assist in the implementation and maintenance of risk management activities across the Townsville Hospital and Health Service.
The Risk Officer, reporting to the Risk and Compliance Manager, will provide advice and support in the development and implementation of the risk management framework and supporting policies and procedures within the health service.
Role Requirements
- Whilst not mandatory, previous experience in a similar role, possession of a qualification in Risk Management, and membership of a relevant processional association would be highly regarded.

The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:
- A sound knowledge and understanding of contemporary enterprise risk management, ideally within a health care setting.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships, influence and engage others in the delivery of effective risk management.
- A high level of written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, relates well with people at all levels, uses diplomacy and tact to establish and form close working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- A sound analytical ability to identify and analyse problems, and formulate and implement appropriate courses of actions, converting them into high level and objective written documents
- Initiative to respond to challenges and achieve deadlines in a pressured and changing environment.
- Exercise judgement when necessary to solve immediate problems in situations where precedents have been set, including the ability to work autonomously and utilise discretion in the absence of the Risk and Compliance Manager.
