Vacancy: Chief Risk Officer

The YMCA is a vibrant, not for profit charity, delivering contemporary programs that proactively change people’s lives and strengthen communities. Working with over 35 communities across NSW at more than 120 locations, the Y generates more than 4 million visits per year. The Y’s “reason for being” is to use its strengths and capabilities to deliver programs and services to tackle important societal issues and to positively impact on the lives of the communities it serves.

An opportunity exists in the Parramatta HQ for an exceptional Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to join the executive leadership team.  The CRO reports to the Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Directors. Leading a small team, the CRO provides high quality advice and leadership on risk management approaches that protect and support the achievement of the Y’s business strategies and goals, as well as facilitating a ‘best practice’ risk management culture across the Y.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Significant Chief Risk Officer experience
  • A strong track record of principled leadership
  • Demonstrated strategic focus with a ‘whole of business perspective’
  • Experience driving change in a collaborative way
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to build relationships with stakeholders
  • Qualifications in a relevant field (law, change management, risk management)
