An opportunity exists to join Slater and Gordon Lawyers in the role of Group Risk and Internal Audit Manager.
In this role you will:
• Be responsible for the risk management function across the Group and facilitate further integration of this function into the organisation.
• Work with the executive teams in each of Australia and the UK to facilitate the risk management processes, control identification and implementation and regular risk reporting.
• Coordinate the Internal Audit function for the Group.
• Report to the Chair of the Audit, Compliance & Risk Management Committee and prepare regular reporting on risk management and internal audit to that Committee.
You are currently either working for a professional services consultancy or in an in-house role in a professional services context. You are interested in expanding your experience into an executive level role in a listed company environment.
You are solutions focussed with a practical approach to risk management. You have the capability to develop and implement a risk management and internal audit framework and collaborate closely with the Australian and UK Executive Teams. You will also manage the relationship with our outsource partners in Australia and the UK to deliver these frameworks.
The role reports to Group General Counsel at an executive level and has a direct and independent reporting line to the Chair of the Audit, Compliance and Risk Management Committee in relation to the risk management and internal audit functions.
You will be expected to attend up to 5 Audit Committee meetings each year based in Melbourne/Sydney to report directly on these matters. There is a requirement to participate in regular video-conference/teleconferences with the UK and a likely requirement for at least annual travel to the UK.
