About the Role

Reporting to the Manager, Risk & Compliance, the Risk Advisor provides specialist risk advice across ActewAGL’s operations. You’ll work closely with senior leaders, operational teams and governance forums to ensure risks are well understood, managed and embedded into everyday business processes.

This role is ideal for an experienced risk professional who enjoys partnering with stakeholders, facilitating meaningful risk discussions, and contributing to continuous improvement in a complex organisation.

What you’ll be doing

  • Provide expert risk advice to stakeholders across the business, including executives and operational leaders

  • Develop, review and maintain risk registers at operational, divisional and enterprise levels

  • Maintain and continuously improve the ActewAGL Risk Management Framework, including tools, templates and guidance

  • Lead and facilitate risk workshops to support informed decision-making

  • Perform second-line assurance activities, including control effectiveness testing

  • Administer the ARIA risk module (Incident Management System) and ensuring high-quality, accessible and accurate risk information

  • Prepare risk reporting and insights for the Executive, Board and Safety Audit & Risk Committee

  • Support the integration of risk considerations into core business and procurement processes

  • Champion ActewAGL’s values and contribute to a strong safety and risk-aware culture

What we’re looking for

Essential:

  • A relevant bachelor’s degree in business administration, compliance or a related discipline

  • Demonstrated experience in enterprise risk management, including the development and continuous improvement of risk frameworks

  • Strong working knowledge of governance, risk and assurance practices, including ISO 31000

  • Proven ability to engage, influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders

  • Experience facilitating complex risk discussions with senior leaders

  • Experience preparing and presenting risk information to Boards or committees

Desirable:

  • Certified Practising Risk Manager (CPRM – RMIA)

  • Additional tertiary qualifications in risk management
