Chapter Presidents

RMIA’s state-based Chapters connect members within their regions and foster strong local networks. Led by a Chapter President and Committee, they are hubs for sharing knowledge and collaborating on regional initiatives. Chapters host networking events, workshops, webinars and leadership forums, offering professional development and insights on emerging industry trends. By building vibrant local communities, they play a vital role in advancing the practice of risk management across each state.


ACT Chapter

Erandi Premachandra
Chapter President, MRMIA

The ACT Chapter provides ACT public and private sector professionals interested in risk management opportunities to connect, particularly on areas of interest to the nation and the ACT, and to learn about developments in the risk management profession and leading practices. Its focus is on establishing a series of events to provide a regular, ongoing mechanism for the ACT risk management community to connect. The Chapter is comprised of experienced risk professionals from all industries with a shared passion for implementing robust and practical risk management strategies and approaches to assist organisations elevate the risk management profession. The Chapter organises regular networking events and professional development opportunities for the ACT risk community to connect and network.

Erandi is the ACT Chapter President. Having worked across public and private sectors, Erandi has spent the past 19 years honing her expertise in corporate governance, risk management and business resilience.

NSW Chapter

Georgia Hall
Chapter President, MRMIA

Georgia is an operational and strategic leader with over 20 years’ experience in the corporate and government sectors across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong. She has worked within mining, retail, hospitality, major events, loss prevention, hospitality, detention services and rail providing risk, safety, governance and compliance management.

The RMIA New South Wales Chapter is proud to continue to provide an integrated networking platform for our members to support their risk development, information, education and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. The NSW Chapter Committee is comprised of dedicated risk professionals working cohesively to present first class professional and networking events for our members. We are working to exceed our member expectations.

QLD Chapter

Michelle Holland
Chapter President, MRMIA

The Queensland Chapter Executive Committee is a dedicated group of highly skilled risk practitioners, committed to growing and supporting RMIA members through networking and professional development opportunities. 

The Chapter President, Michelle Holland is a Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) professional with experience leading and managing enterprise risk functions in large, complex, multi-site organisations. Michelle is currently serving as the Chief Risk Officer at Queensland Police Service (QPS), accountable for the enterprise risk management and business continuity functions across the state's law enforcement agency.

The Committee’s collective backgrounds provide a rich tapestry of lived experience across government, insurance, capital infrastructure, finance, consulting, and engineering. We look forward to connecting and continuing the conversation with you.

SA/NT Chapter

Zoe Joyce
Chapter President, CPRM

Zoe joined the Adelaide Airport team in 2019 as the Risk and Compliance Advisor and now leads the Risk, Safety and Compliance covering the areas of risk, compliance, Work Health and Safety, Insurance and Incident Reporting and Investigation.

Ms Joyce has a passion for risk management and has been working in this specialty field for over 20 years. Prior to joining AAL, Ms Joyce was a Risk Management Consultant at the South Australian Tourism Commission responsible for risk management of corporate and operational risks, which included major events (Tour Down Under, Adelaide 500, Tasting Australia and the Christmas Pageant).

Ms Joyce is a Certified Practicing Risk Manager through the Risk Management Institute of Australasia, has a Diploma of Risk Management (ANZIIF), a Post Graduate Diploma in Museum Studies (Deakin University) and Honours Degree in Cultural Tourism (Flinders University).

TAS Chapter

Andrew Johnson
Chapter President, MRMIA

Andrew Johnson, Risk Officer for Central Coast Council in North West Tasmania, leads the TAS Chapter as Chapter President.  Andrew is a risk and internal audit practitioner with over 30 years’ experience across all levels of Government, in both Victoria and Tasmania, and in the private sector.

The RMIA Tasmania Chapter is committed to providing professional development opportunities for its members.  Andrew is the sole Chapter committee member presently, but is looking for new committee members to help inspire people to understand more about risk and how to strengthen their organisations’ ability to effectively manage risk. A committee member based in the south of the state, will allow the Chapter to put on more face-to-face events.

VIC Chapter

Rachelle Tippett
Chapter President, MRMIA

Rachelle Tippett, Risk and Regulatory Compliance Manager for the Victorian Institute of Teaching, leads the VIC Chapter as Chapter President. Rachelle is a highly dedicated professional with extensive experience in risk management, governance, regulatory compliance, business process improvements, internal auditing, process and control mapping, investigation, internal controls, business continuity, strategic planning and financial management. Rachelle has over 20 years’ experience working with and providing both public and private businesses with pragmatic and commercially focused risk advice including currently serving as an independent member of the VicHealth Finance and Risk Committee and also the Loddon Shire Council Audit Committee 

The RMIA Victorian Chapter is committed to providing professional development opportunities for its members.  The Chapters mix of risk professionals from both the public and private sector support both formal and networking events for our members.

WA Chapter

Aleks McGovern
Chapter President, CPRM

Aleks McGovern embarked on his insurance career in early 2009, initially working as an insurance broker before subsequently joining Risk Advisory Services (RAS) in mid-2020 as a management consultant. Throughout his career, his abiding passion has been to assist clients in identifying and implementing improvements across their insurance programmes. This includes, examining alternate strategies from traditional insurance and exploring premium-saving approaches.

The RMIA WA Chapter consists of experts in risk, insurance, and assurance across various industries and geographies. This positions the committee to effectively partner with industry and other professional organisations, promoting risk management as a source of strategic competitive advantage. In doing so, the WA Chapter generates value for our members and partners.

RMIA WA’s events serve as one of our primary mechanisms to influence the risk management conversation in the state. We also support individual “how-to” queries from members on a range of topics related to risk management.
