About the Position
Lead enterprise risk management, crisis response and business continuity planning to safeguard Council’s operations.
Oversee Council’s insurance portfolio, ensuring appropriate coverage and a best practice claims management system and Council's community emergency management requirements.
Act as the primary risk management advisor, supporting the Enterprise Risk Management Committee and reporting to the Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee.
Foster a risk-aware culture, driving continuous improvement and best value across the organisation.
Engage with the community on sensitive insurance claims and risk matters, requiring tact, diplomacy, and problem-solving skills.

We are seeking:
A qualified professional with a degree in Risk Management or a related field, or extensive relevant experience in enterprise risk management.
An expert in contemporary risk management and business continuity frameworks within large and complex organisations.
A strong communicator with highly developed verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to liaise with diverse stakeholders.
A skilled trainer with experience in designing and delivering risk management and business continuity training.
A proactive leader with proven ability to manage conflicts, operate in crisis situations, and oversee staff and projects effectively.

This position is based in Murwillumbah and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
