The event will begin with informal networking, providing attendees the chance to reconnect with peers, expand professional networks, and share perspectives with others across the risk management community. Following networking, guests will move into the presentation session.

The team at Mills Oakley will discuss recent headline incidents involving:

  • Titan Submersible; and

  • Whakaari White Island,

and the lessons that organisations can take away from these disasters in building and maintaining a culture that helps organisations identify and manage emerging risks.

Patrick works closely with his clients to assist them to meet their workplace obligations and manage their legal and reputational risks across all areas of employment and safety and is well known for his personable and dynamic practice.

Patrick has extensive experience in assisting, government, private businesses, and not for profit organisations navigate complex employment matters and his expertise in work health and safety, employment, and workers compensation law means that he can provide comprehensive workplace relations advice.

Patrick has a particular focus on assisting larger employers and government clients in managing their workplace obligations.

Patrick also brings expertise as Counsel and regularly advises and represents clients in the South Australia Employment Tribunal and Fair Work Commission.

Bronwyn has worked for 25 years in Insurance and Health Litigation specialising in complex public liability and personal injury, medical negligence, products liability, dust diseases, property liability and property damage. She specialises in insurance litigation with her focus being on complex public liability and personal injury, medical negligence, professional indemnity (including disciplinary and regulatory action against medical and allied health professionals), CTP, Dust Diseases, property liability and property damage (including motor).

Bronwyn has practised in the Magistrates Court, District Court, Supreme Court, Industrial Relations Tribunal, SACAT, Coroner’s Court and Federal Court jurisdictions. She has acted as junior counsel at trials and coronial inquests to a number of prominent South Australian Queens’ and Senior Counsel.

Grant is a partner in the Mills Oakley SA/NT insurance practice. He has over 30 years’ experience, principally in the areas of professional indemnity and complex public and product liability claims. Grant predominately acts for insurers, the State of South Australia, corporates, SMEs and NFPs in South Australian and Commonwealth courts including claims against professionals and directors, complex public and product liability claims and disciplinary proceedings.

Tina is highly experienced in civil litigation and insurance, specializing in the practice areas of medical malpractice, coronial inquests, defamation, dust disease and general civil litigation. Her background includes industrial and workers compensation litigation as well as third party asbestos recovery actions and professional indemnity.

Tina has expertise in complex litigation, Royal Commission Inquiries and Coronial Inquests with whole of government implications. She recently acted as junior Counsel in the landmark Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence Coronial Inquest in the Northern Territory.
