About the Role

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Enterprise Risk, the Senior Risk Training Officer is responsible for providing enterprise risk services for the department through:

  • Designing and delivering training activities and delivering risk management workshops in a virtual and in-person (face-to-face) environment, that support the department’s Enterprise Risk Management Strategy and Risk Training and Awareness program.

  • Promoting risk awareness activities for the department’s annual risk week and risk network.

  • Providing advice and support for the department’s enterprise risk management system.

  • Promoting internal and external awards programs, including assisting business areas with nominations.

Duties and responsibilities

The successful candidate will gain experience working in a dynamic and highly driven team delivering outcomes in a fast-paced environment. You would be expected to contribute to the sections key risk management initiatives in a project-based environment.

The successful candidate will understand the department’s business and be able to draw on corporate knowledge and networks to achieve required results.

Responsibilities of the APS Level 6 include:

  • Developing and delivering risk training activities, including video scripts, monthly newsletters, and intranet management

  • Assisting in organising and facilitating risk workshops (in-person / virtual) for different audiences

  • Developing risk management promotional materials, including preparation for the annual Risk Week, Secretary’s Awards, and the Comcover Risk Management Awards

  • Managing multiple tasks, within tight timeframes

  • Building positive relationships and networks across the department to support maturing and maintaining a positive risk culture, including coordination of the department’s Risk Network

  • Reviewing and updating risk management documentation

  • Providing support to the section’s other activities of complaints handling, insurance, risk data analysis, reporting, and records management.
