Consultation open - proposed Governance, Risk and Assurance Framework

NSW Treasury is seeking feedback on the proposed Governance, Risk and Assurance Framework (the Framework), which is intended to replace TPP20-08: Internal Audit and Risk Management Policy for the General Government Sector.

We invite you to review the proposed Framework and provide feedback by Friday, 18 December 2026. Your feedback will help ensure the Framework is practical, effective and fit for purpose, and supports strong governance, risk management and assurance practices across in-scope GSF agencies.

Please visit the consultation webpage to access the proposed Framework, consultation paper and feedback questionnaire. We recommend you start by reading the consultation paper , which contains all the key information we are consulting on and provides an overview of the proposed Framework, key changes and areas where we are seeking feedback.

How to provide feedback

  1. Review the consultation materials
Start with the Consultation Paper , which provides an overview of the proposed Framework, key changes and areas where we are seeking feedback.

  2. Prepare your response
Please use the Governance, Risk and Assurance Framework Questionnaire to prepare your response. Instructions are provided in the first tab of the questionnaire. You need only respond to those questions that are relevant to you. We encourage the different stakeholder groups in an organisation to collaborate on their response, but do not require a consolidated response. Please ensure your response specifies which area of your organisation your views represent or if it is on behalf of your organisation as a whole.

  3. Submit your feedback
Email your completed questionnaire to finpol@treasury.nsw.gov.au by Friday, 18 December 2026.

We will keep the consultation webpage updated during this consultation period with any additional information during the consultation period.

If you have any questions, or would like to discuss your feedback with us, we would be happy to arrange a meeting. Please contact the Financial Management Policy team at finpol@treasury.nsw.gov.au .
