RMIA BOARD - INDEPENDENT DIRECTORS ANNOUNCEMENT
We are pleased to announce the appointment of three new independent leaders to support the governance & strategic direction of the RMIA.
We are delighted to welcome Gerard Smith & Frans Verheij as Independent Directors of the RMIA Board, & Mark Koliba GAICD as an Independent Director of the RMIA Audit & Risk Committee.
Collectively, Ged, Frans & Mark bring extensive expertise across governance, strategy, risk, transformation, infrastructure, financial services, resilience & organisational leadership. Their diverse experience & perspectives will strengthen RMIA's ability to support members & advance the risk profession across Australia & New Zealand.
Speaking about their appointments, Ged & Frans shared their enthusiasm for contributing to RMIA's next chapter of growth & impact. Both are passionate about helping organisations navigate complexity, strengthen governance & build resilience in an increasingly dynamic environment.
Mark joins the Audit & Risk Committee with extensive experience in governance, project delivery, asset management & risk management across the public sector. His appointment further strengthens the ARC's oversight & advisory capability.
We'd also like to extend our sincere thanks to Andrew Wood, who has stepped down after five years as an Independent Director on the RMIA Board.
Reflecting on his time with RMIA, Andrew shared:
"It's been an absolute privilege to be part of the organisation's journey through a period of significant growth & evolution. Looking back, what stands out most is not just the progress we've made, but the people behind it.
Many don't see the incredible amount of work that happens behind the scenes & the countless contributors all giving their time, energy & passion to support & advance the risk management profession. Their commitment is what makes the RMIA such a strong & respected organisation.
While I'm stepping away from the Board, I'm certainly not stepping away from the RMIA. I remain a passionate supporter of the organisation & look forward to staying involved & contributing where I can."
Andrew's dedication, insight & commitment have made a significant contribution to RMIA over the past five years. On behalf of the Board, members & broader RMIA community, we thank him for his service & ongoing support.
Please join us in welcoming Ged, Frans & Mark, & in thanking Andrew for his outstanding contribution to RMIA.
