About the Speakers

Tim Slattery

Director and Co-founder, Pentagram Advisory

Tim Slattery brings over 40 years of national security experience to his understanding of the threats facing Australia today. Tim is focused on the protection of Australia’s critical infrastructure from a world of threats to sustain Australia’s national security.

Tim’s employment in federal government, including 13 years as a senior executive, encompasses Army, Defence intelligence, national security, signals intelligence, law enforcement intelligence, protective security, and foreign affairs. Tim brings significant experience of operations with Five Eyes intelligence partners in Australia and overseas, including extensive collaboration with the U.S. partners.

Tim is a founder of Pentagram Advisory which focuses on security advice to critical infrastructure entities and other key private sector operators. Today, Pentagram Advisory means protection, with a mission that aligns with the U.S. Secretary of Defense Hegseth stated priority to “Advance the defense industrial collaboration between Australia and the U.S., and strengthen the bilateral alliance.”

Tim has a particular focus on insider threat mitigation as the human part of cyber security and a fundamental component of overall enterprise security.

Marina Shteinberg

Director and Co-founder, Pentagram Advisory

Marina Shteinberg is a leading expert in security of critical infrastructure, insider threat mitigation and supply chain security, with over 25 years of experience across government and industry sectors in Australia and internationally. She is the director and co-founder of Pentagram Advisory, where she provides strategic security and risk management solutions to safeguard critical infrastructure and national interests.

Marina has an extensive background in national security policy, regulatory compliance, and legislative development, including 12 years in the Commonwealth Government. During her tenure at the Attorney-General’s Department, she led the rewrite of the Personnel Security Policy component of the Protective Security Policy Framework to align with evolving security requirements and contributed to the implementation of the revised PSPF.

Marina has authored numerous articles on insider threats, personnel security, and supply chain security. Pentagram Advisory work continues to shape best practices in security governance and resilience across critical infrastructure sectors, including energy, telecommunications, water, and healthcare.
