About the Event

Geopolitical risk has moved rapidly up the agenda for Boards, executives and regulators. Yet many organisations still assess geopolitical developments as external events, rather than considering how they can create cascading impacts across operations, supply chains, technology, workforce, financial performance and strategic objectives.

In this webinar, Rade Musulin will explore how risk professionals can better understand and manage geopolitical risk in an increasingly interconnected world. Drawing on recent global developments, including conflict in the Middle East, shifting trade relationships, energy transition dynamics and changing regulatory expectations, the session will examine how seemingly unrelated events can interact to create complex and far-reaching consequences.

The webinar will introduce the concept of a “polycrisis” and explore how organisations can build on traditional risk management practices, including risk registers, by applying systems thinking to identify vulnerabilities, test resilience and strengthen decision-making under uncertainty. It will also consider how established climate risk techniques, including scenario analysis and stress testing, can provide a practical framework for assessing geopolitical exposures.

Attendees will gain practical insights into emerging regulatory expectations, lessons from recent disruptions, and approaches for incorporating geopolitical risk into enterprise risk management and organisational resilience programs.
